New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was one of several coaches/NFL front office figures who is being sued by former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores for their mistreatment of him. The reason Belichick is right smack in the middle is because he accidentally sent a text to Flores instead of Brian Daboll, congratulating him on the head coaching job for the New York Giants, yet Flores didn't even know he wasn't get hired yet.

Well, the Patriots HC was asked about the whole fiasco, but he had little to say.

Via Pro Football Talk:

“Can’t comment on it,” Belichick said to a handful of questions about Brian Flores’ lawsuit.

On Sunday, Giants owner John Mara insisted Belichick had absolutely no way of knowing NY was choosing Daboll over Flores, despite the premature texts. Take it for what you will, but it sounds fishy.

Flores meanwhile is already back in the league as a defensive assistant and linebackers coach under Mike Tomlin with the Pittsburgh Steelers, only one of two black head coaches left in the NFL. I'm sure Belichick, who led the Patriots back to the postseason in 2021, felt extremely embarrassed after mistakenly texting Flores. It must've been a brutal way to learn you didn't get the job.
