Although the New England Patriots are set to host the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wild Card, there is still plenty of speculation regarding the future of quarterback Tom Brady. It appears there has not been any more clarity on his status following the 2019 NFL season.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots are taking a wait and see approach:

“It truly is a wait-and-see type of situation,” Reiss said. “There’s been no contract talks since August when they reached that revised deal and Bill Belichick has a saying to his players this time of year, ‘Put it all in the drawer. Nothing else is important other than the football game you’re about to play.’ So, we can say Tom Brady’s future with the Patriots is in the drawer and probably at the top in the pile of that drawer.”

Brady is set to become a free agent this offseason, and some have predicted that this could very well be his last game under center for the Patriots if New England were to lose to the Titans. It seems both sides have decided to table contract negotiations until after the season is over.

The 42-year-old is in the midst of an underwhelming year by his standards. However, much of his struggles can be attributed to an overall lack of firepower in New England's offense. Even if the Patriots are not looking to bring Brady back, he has made it clear that he still has plenty left in the tank and is looking to compete.

As a result, it is safe to say that Brady will garner plenty of attention if he hits the market.
