Another day, another example of Tom Brady being way better at social media than he should be. New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman took to Instagram to welcome his new quarterback, Cam Newton to the team.

Brady, now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' quarterback, left a comment:

It's worth nothing that it's a grade-A post from Edelman, using the font that Newton has made popular. It's short and simple. Edelman shows that he's on board and excited to get things rolling.

Brady's “I will always be your #1” response is a great post to begin with, but adding the winking face at the end is the icing on the cake.

Everyone knows about the well-documented bromance between Brady and Edelman, who were Patriots teammates starting in 2009.

This will now be the first time Edelman has a new starting quarterback. So it will be interesting to see how he performs and how he gels with Newton.

Just in case that duo becomes lethal immediately, Brady seems to be covering his bases. He's making sure that Edelman and everyone else remembers he was Edelman's quarterback first. And that those two put up some absurd numbers together.

It's obviously all in jest. Brady is on a new team. And yes he has tight end Rob Gronkowski with him, but it's mostly new faces and a new scene.

Meanwhile, Edelman is still in New England, but has a brand new quarterback for the first time in his Patriots career.

It will be interesting to see how the superstars perform in their new “relationships” in 2020 and beyond.
