Fans of the New England Patriots will have to wait to see Cam Newton in the team's threads this offseason. But EA Sports gave a glimpse of what Newton will look like with his new team. In a post to one of their official Twitter accounts, EA Sports shared the first look of Newton in Patriots gear in Madden 21.

The sports world caught on fire on Sunday when New England inked a one-year deal with Newton. Since Newton was released by the Carolina Panthers in March, not many teams expressed interest in the former All-Pro quarterback.

Nevertheless, with glaring concerns at quarterback following the departure of Tom Brady, the Patriots swooped in and signed the electric quarterback. If Newton is able to remain healthy, New England could easily be in the discussion of Super Bowl contenders.

In his past two seasons with the Panthers, Newton has sustained multiple season-ending injuries. First, in 2018, Newton suffered a shoulder injury versus the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10.

Throughout the first eight games before his injury, Newton completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 1,893 yards, 15 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He would also contribute 342 rushing yards and another four touchdowns with his legs.

Then, early in the 2019 season, the three-time Pro Bowler would injure his foot in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Due to his injury concerns, the Panthers elected to replace him with Teddy Bridgewater this offseason.

As for the Patriots, instead of deploying Jarrett Stidham under center, it seems inevitable that Newton will be the starting quarterback next season. With that in mind, fans in Foxborough hope to see plenty of Newton's ā€œSupermanā€ celebration as EA Sports displayed on Monday.
