New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday shared his thoughts on their recent win without their best player, Anthony Davis.

Per Jim Eichenhofer of pelicans.com, Holiday gave everyone credit in their 114-123 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. With Davis out of the lineup, Julius Randle and Jahlil Okafor stepped up:

“When Anthony's playing, we look for him a lot and try to have him bail us out. I think today we did a great job of playing even (in terms of shot distribution). Julius played great minutes, Jah played great minutes. Everybody was a part of this win.”

Davis was out with an illness which forced the rest of the Pelicans to fill in the void. Holiday himself notched 26 points and nine assists, as well as 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Randle, for his part, had 33 points and 11 rebounds.

Okafor had seven points and seven rebounds — five of which were from the offensive end. Darius Miller came off the bench and dropped 21 points. And finally, Elfrid Payton returned to the line up after missing six weeks and chipped in nine points and six assists.

Overall, it was a good team effort by the Pelicans. They currently have a 17-21 record for 14th place in the Western Conference — not the place they want to be and not where everyone expected them to be. But the good thing is that there's a lot of games left to play. Hopefully, this team win sparked something in them.
