The NBA reportedly warned the New Orleans Pelicans that the franchise would risk a $100,000 fine per game if they didn't play a healthy Anthony Davis, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Anthony Davis wasn't traded at the deadline, but he is expected to be moved in the summer, creating a very awkward dynamic between the All-Star big man and the Pelicans for the rest of the season.

If Davis gets hurt, his trade value goes down. Just imagine how bad it will be if Davis suffers an injury which requires surgery. Obviously, no one wants the 25-year-old forward to injure himself, but he has a long injury history — making this whole situation very dicey.

When Jimmy Butler requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, the small forward sat out some games due to general soreness. Expect the Pelicans to sit Davis for that same reason to close out the campaign.

AD has never played 82 games during a regular season. His aggressive style of play puts him in danger of getting hurt on a nightly basis. This is by far the most interesting storyline to follow for the rest of the year.

Davis, now a six-time All-Star, is averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season.
