All eyes will be on the Phoenix Suns as they embark on a brand new season after their impressive campaign last year. The ultimate question is will they be able to improve on their success? Will they be able to win the NBA title this time around? Fans have their own predictions so it's only right that we offer ours.

Here are four bold predictions for the Phoenix Suns in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Suns predictions:

1. Another trip to the Western Conference Finals

Last year's Suns roster which made it all the way to the NBA Finals is pretty much well intact. Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton are still surrounded by great role players like Jae Crowder, Cameron Payne, and Mikal Bridges. The Suns front office knows that keeping everyone in is just part of the goal. The next step is to get better. And they did just that by adding athletic big man JaVale McGee and offensive gunner Landry Shamet.

Apart from this, the landscape in the Western Conference is looking good for the Suns as well. The Denver Nuggets and the LA Clippers will miss the services of Jamal Murray and Kawhi Leonard, respectively, for a chunk of the season. Fans might be asking, if the Nuggets and Clippers are expected to have a lackluster season, then what's stopping the Suns from winning it all? Before we forget, the Lakers had a massive offseason haul. Yes, they're old and gray. But we still cannot discount a LeBron James-led team. The Golden State Warriors, too, may prove to be a handful once Klay Thompson returns.

2. Mikal Bridges will win Most Improved Player and make the All-Defensive Team

Last season, Mikal Bridges placed 11th in voting for the 10-man All-Defensive Team selections. He was just a few votes short. Yet it was evidence that Bridges got the recognition he deserved. After all, amid all the Suns' success last year, it was Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and head coach Monty Williams who got most of the praise. Only the real fans know Bridges was a big part of their campaign. In the coming season, it would be fair to expect Bridges to bring the same defensive intensity. He will continue being a pest, making the right reads, coming up with steals, stripping the ball. Basically, all the things that a great defensive player does.

Apart from this, we may see an upgrade in his offense which will ultimately propel him into the Most Improved Player conversations. Coach Monty Williams revealed that he intends Bridges to become the team's third scoring option behind Booker and Paul. In response, Bridges said that he's working on his handles and strength. From the looks of it, the 2021-22 NBA season will be the birth of a two-way player in Bridges.

3. Chris Paul will win MVP

Last season, Chris Paul finished fifth in MVP voting. The season before, in his lone stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he finished seventh. And in his stints in LA and New Orleans, Paul was always in the MVP conversations. The 2021-22 NBA season might finally be Paul's year.

To win the coveted MVP trophy, a player has to prove why he's the most important player on the squad. Another pre-requisite is the player's current narrative. Paul has ticked all these boxes over the last three years or so. He transformed the Thunder into a playoff team in a single season. The Suns are now regarded as a legitimate title threat. This will continue to be Paul's narrative in the 2021-22 NBA season. Voters will finally get to their senses and realize why Paul is called the Point God.

4. Monty Williams wins Coach of the Year

Even before Monty Williams was named head coach of the Phoenix Suns, there was already some hype surrounding him. His colleagues as well as analysts were aware that Williams is a great coach. His first foray as a head coach in New Orleans was considered his warm-up years. He took a step back to become an assistant head coach then joined Mike Krzyzewski coaching staff in the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics where he helped power the US to the gold. Now, we're seeing Williams' labor bear fruit.

Last season, he finished second in voting for Coach of the Year behind New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau. No doubt it was well-deserved. However, the fact that the Suns made it all the way to the NBA Finals while the Knicks got booted out in the first round will be on the minds of this season's voters. They won't just look at how a coach turned an organization around, but they'll also look at longevity. Williams will win that battle. And he'll eventually win NBA Coach of the Year.
