Detroit Pistons rising star Cade Cunningham is making a late push for Rookie of the Year, and his latest feat should make the other ROY contenders like Evan Mobley and Scottie Barnes sweat.

On Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks, Cunningham matched up with Luka Doncic well and produced 25 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. While the Pistons ended up losing 131-113, it was still a great showing for the 2021 No. 1 overall pick.

According to Stat Muse, it is Cunningham's eighth game of the season with a 25-5-5 game, the most among any other rookie. To put that in a better perspective, all other rookies combine for seven of such stat.

Cade Cunningham has certainly shown why he is the top pick of his class, and he continues to prove why he is one of the best young players in the NBA today.

It is definitely interesting as well that he showed his all-around game against Luka Doncic, the player he is often compared with. Sure enough, the comparisons between the two will only grow.

Cunningham is currently one of the favorites to win Rookie of the Year, and while Evan Mobley is a major threat to his chances, the injury to the Cleveland Cavaliers big man may play in favor of the Pistons guard. As for Scottie Barnes, he has also made a solid case for himself. However, he has largely been overshadowed by Cade and Mobley in recent weeks.
