New York Knicks owner James Dolan is planning to pursue Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri to run the Knicks, according to Frank Isola of The Athletic.

Ujiri is under contract with the Raptors through the 2021 season. Dolan is planning to give president Steve Mills, general manager Scott Perry and maybe even head coach David Fizdale the remainder of the season to figure out how to salvage New York's season, but he's reportedly enamored with Ujiri.

However, the feeling may not be mutual. While the interview took place back in 2014, Ujiri was quoted as saying he hates the Knicks:

Mills and Perry addressed the media for several minutes before Fizdale’s press conference following the Knicks' home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers this past Sunday. Mills said he and Perry aren’t happy with how things are going, saying he expected the Knicks to be better.

New York is 2-9 on the season and has been a walking disaster for years. Ujiri has a good thing going with the Raptors. It's hard to envision him leaving a stable situation for a murky one in New York.

However, money does talk in the NBA and Dolan has lots of it. Ujiri was able to help the Raptors win their first title in franchise history last season. Maybe he has interest in embarking on the challenge of trying to turn around the Knicks.

Only time will tell, though.
