Houston Rockets superstar point guard Russell Westbrook is now being listed as questionable for Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Westbrook had been listed as out on Tuesday due to his quad injury, but it appears he has progressed enough to have a chance to play in this crucial contest. The point guard will test out his quad before the game and make a decision from there, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Rockets and Thunder are tied 2-2 in this first-round series. Houston could really use Westbrook's services now that this series has tightened up. The Rockets appeared to be in cruise control after dominating the first two games, but they faltered in Games 3 and 4. James Harden was visibly upset after his team blew a sizable second-half lead in Game 4.

Russell Westbrook initially suffered his quad injury during the seeding games. He tried to return after missing a pair of games, only to aggravate the issue. He hasn't played since Aug. 11 against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Rockets point guard had a dynamite regular season in his debut campaign in Houston, going for 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He shot a career-high 47.2% from the field despite a wretched 25.8% mark from beyond the 3-point line. The point guard's efficiency skyrocketed as the season went on and he focused on relentlessly attacking the basket.

Houston is missing that element of Russell Westbrook's game against a scrappy Thunder side. It would be a shame if Russ isn't able to play in this series against his former team, and it's a great sign that his status has been upgraded. If he's able to return, expect him to come out with plenty of fire.
