The Sentinels have once again demonstrated their dominance by winning the VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 Challengers 1 tournament. The team was up against XSET in the grand finals and defeated them 3-1. Because of this conclusion, the Sentinels secured the first seed which gives them all the momentum coming into the next phase in the Challengers Playoffs come August.
The grand finals of Stage 3 was a revenge series for the Sentinels. XSET defeated them in the upper bracket semifinals forcing the defending champs to work their way up from the lower bracket. It was nail-biting at first since XSET took the first match in Haven with a score of 13-9. However, the Sentinels have realized their position and have fully awoken to make a huge comeback by winning three matches in a row. These wins didn’t come easy though. XSET gave it their best shot to dethrone who the community sees as the best VALORANT team in the world right now in the Sentinels, especially in that overtime match in Icebox where the Sentinels won with a score of 14-12.
Fans of the Sentinels rejoiced after the team’s display of excellence in the grand finals. Now they have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 3 Masters which will be held in Berlin, Germany. Do the Sentinals have what it takes to win the Masters twice in a row? We’ll just have to wait and see as the Stage 3 Playoffs continue.
