Kelly Oubre Jr. participated in his first practice as a member of the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, according to Gina Mizell of The Athletic.

The Suns acquired Oubre from the Washington Wizards in the Trevor Ariza trade. The swingman will wear No. 3 with Phoenix.  The Suns take on the Boston Celtics Wednesday.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is a versatile swingman who can defend at a high level and knock down open shots from deep. The 23-year-old averaged 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game with the Wizards this season while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor, 31.1 percent from the 3-point line and 80.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Oubre will become a restricted free agent in the offseason if the Suns offer him a $4.8 million qualifying offer. One would assume Phoenix will try to keep him long term since he's a young asset with a lot of potential. The 6-foot-7 forward has career averages of 8.2 points and 3.5 rebounds.

The Suns are currently on a three-game winning streak. They still have the second-worst record in the NBA at 7-24, but they are playing their best basketball of the year right now. Phoenix has defeated the Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks.

Kelly Oubre Jr. will likely play against the Celtics on Wednesday.
