Terrance Ferguson may not be a fixture in the Oklahoma City Thunder rotation yet, but he has been proving his worth, and is showing his teammates as well that he deserves his roster spot. Even Steven Adams is impressed with what he’s seen so far from the 19-year-old rookie, and recently shared how he tested him in practice.

The Kiwi international center explained how he tried to give him a feel of how competitive it can be during actual NBA games, and going up against some of the better big men in the league today. Although he made it clear that he didn’t give him “Perk level” testing, he still gave him credit for showing toughness, and not backing down against him.

Ferguson was the 21st overall pick in last June’s draft, and has appeared in 12 games so far for the Thunder. He is also expected to see some action in the G-League with their affiliate, for him to gain additional experience and extra workouts.

With Adams’ praise for him, it definitely says a lot about his future in the league. It’s not easy to impress the team’s starting center, especially being the rugged player that he is, but Ferguson has shown enough to receive nothing but good words from him. It may not take long for Ferguson to be a regular part of the rotation, and Adams could even take him under his wing, to teach some of the tricks of the trade that will make him an even better player in the years to come.
