The USC Trojans just got another huge men's basketball commitment, with five-star center Vince Iwuchukwu committing to the school on Friday afternoon.

The 7-footer made his announcement live to The Athletic's Shams Charania:

Vince Iwuchukwu is the No. 12 player in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite Ranking. He picked USC over offers from Baylor, Kansas, Texas and UCLA, so there were some heavy hitters involved in this recruitment.

Iwuchukwu is currently playing for Montverde Academy in Florida. The big man hails from San Antonio.

Here's part of a scouting report on Iwuchukwu done in January by Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports:

Iwuchukwu is a fairly raw and mechanical big man prospect with a high upside who has been a steadfast worker and it has helped him make gradual improvement towards his body and skill set. The foundation of his production will be determined by how hard he plays. … The confidence, energy, and love for the game are there but once the game slows down for him, we could see Iwuchukwu transform into an elite high major center down the road.

USC is putting together a nice little recruiting class for 2022. In addition to Vince Iwuchukwu, the Trojans have also secured commitments from Kijani Wright and Oziyah Sellers. The 247Sports Composite Ranking lists Wright as the No. 38 prospect in the class. The addition of Iwuchukwu will shoot USC up the class rankings.
