The Miami Heat announced that their longest tenured player on their roster, Udonis Haslem, has agreed to stay with the team for the next season.

Details were not fully disclosed but it was reported to be at a little under the $4 million mark according to Ira Winderman of The Sun Sentinel:

The Heat's all-time leader in rebounds has spent his entire career in South Beach and has been part of the franchise's 3 championships in the last decade. He has always been the veteran presence needed in mentoring the young players in their roster.

“For over a decade, Udonis has embodied what it means to wear the Miami Heat uniform,” Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement.

“He has been the pillar and constant of this organization, and is a true champion in every sense of the word. We are thrilled that Udonis is back to help impart his leadership and instill the Heat culture with his new teammates.”

The 36 year old who only played limited minutes last season is now expected to have a bigger role with the team.

Miami is currently completing their roster and have had multiple free agent signings over the past couple of days. This news about Haslem is just what the team needed after the team's break-up with Dwyane Wade, who chose to move on after 13 years, and join the Chicago Bulls instead.
