Everson Griffen is one of the best pass rushers in the NFC, but has gotten into trouble off-the-field and has been away from the Minnesota Vikings due to those issues. Minnesota had him sit last week and he is sitting this evening too against the Los Angeles Rams and there has been no news about when he will return to the field.

In an Instagram post, Griffen took the time to apologize for his actions.

“This past week’s events have raised many questions, and I want to apologize to everyone who was impacted. Once I have had time to address those issues, I hope to share my story with everyone.”

Reports have stated that Griffen has not been himself lately and that he won't be allowed to return to the Vikings until a full mental health evaluation has been completed.

A report from USA Today shared more details about the incident that led to this point.

“The report, filed Saturday, said that Vikings director of security Kim Klawiter asked police to check on Griffen’s wife and children at their home, saying ‘it’s almost like he’s having a nervous breakdown.' Griffen’s wife was also cited, and she corroborated the team’s claim that he wasn’t acting normally.

The report details other erratic behavior like uncontrolled yelling during practices and one instance where Griffen allegedly attempted to enter the home of Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes.

The police report also said that since ‘no crime was committed, there are no criminal charges forthcoming.'”

Hopefully, Griffen will be able to come out of this situation healthier and ready to get back into his promising career with the Vikings.
