Coming off the most successful season in nearly a decade, the Minnesota Vikings have decided to capitalize on the momentum this offseason by bringing in Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins on a three-year, $84 million fully guaranteed deal to be the long-term answer under center.

It has immediately put him at the forefront of figuring out the offensive scheme that will best help the Vikings take that next step in the 2018 season to contend for the Super Bowl. Cousins has already got off on the right foot with emerging star wide receiver Adam Thielen, who stated in a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio that he believes his new quarterback has shown to be a talented player that can make all the necessary throws.

The fact that he has already endeared himself to the top receiving threat in the passing game is a telling sign of what may come. Thielen has emerged as a legitimate star player at his position coming off a breakout campaign where he recorded 91 catches for 1,276 receiving yards with four touchdowns. This made him the first player in franchise history to post 1,000 receiving yards since Sidney Rice back in 2009. He also notched at least five catches in all but three games while surpassing 100 receiving yards five times.

The immediate connection that he has begun to build with Thielen will be important in him finding success in the passing game as he will a plethora of options such as wideout Stefon Diggs, and tight end Kyle Rudolph that should help him take the Vikings offense to the next level. What should also be noted is that second-year running Dalvin Cook will be back in the fold that should provide balance to the offense along with another receiving option out of the backfield.

All of this has set the table for Cousins to excel with the opportunity to take Minnesota to great heights with a well-balanced team that can contend for a Super Bowl next season.
