The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-28 on Thursday Night Football. Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was instrumental to the victory, as he broke Adrian Peterson's franchise record for the most rushing yards in a half. Cook reacted to the incredible performance.
That's cool stuff from Vikings star Dalvin Cook. There was a lot of talk ahead of the game as to whether the star halfback would even be able to suit up, though he got himself into game shape to suit up against the Steelers quicker than anyone anticipated.
Not only that, but Cook put on a performance for the ages, setting not one, but two of Adrian Peterson's Vikings franchise records. Cook and Peterson are now the only two Minnesota running backs to have multiple 200-yard, two-touchdown games.
That is some good company for the current Vikings star to have with past Vikings star, Adrian Peterson. And it's also good to see how confident Cook is in his own body, his own ability to play at full speed even when he might not be fully healthy. Minnesota's coaches trusted his ability to do just that and he rewarded them big time against the Steelers.
Dalvin Cook and the Vikings will now get extended time to rest up before they play the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 15. One can bet that the Vikings will continue to turn Cook loose down the stretch.
