The Minnesota Vikings are hoping to get back into the win column against the Detroit Lions in Week 14. It seems running back Dalvin Cook has no intention of sitting this one out.

Cook picked up a shoulder injury during the 37-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on primetime in Week 13. According to Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune, it will not be enough to keep him from suiting up against the Lions.

Dalvin Cook’s shoulder injury is a pain tolerance deal, and he said he’s been told there shouldn’t be a risk of injuring it worse. Reiterates he’ll play Sunday vs Lions. “I gotta work on” holding onto the ball when hit there.

There was plenty of concern regarding the severity of the injury since Cook was never able to return to the game after leaving in the third quarter. He noted that the hit he sustained was in the same spot where he had taken multiple blows earlier in the year. Fortunately, it seems he will be able to play as long as he can manage the pain.

Although having Cook available provides some much-needed reassurance for the Vikings, they may still want to take a cautious approach to ensure that he does not further aggravate the injury. Despite the loss, they are still in control of their playoff destiny heading into the final stretch of the 2019 NFL season.

The onus will fall on the rest of the offense to kick things up a notch in this favorable matchup versus Detroit in order to spare Cook from having to take on a heavy workload.
