The Minnesota Vikings absolutely dominated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium. Despite the fact that Minnesota defeated the Falcons by the score of 28-12, all 12 of Atlanta's points came in the fourth quarter with the game already well out of reach.

However, it isn't really a secret as to why the Vikes were able to take charge against the Falcons. Minnesota dominated Atlanta in the rushing attack. The Minnesota defense took over the game by shutting down just about everything the Falcons threw at them.

Most notably, forcing turnovers became the bread and butter for the Purple People, as Minnesota gained only 54 yards against the Falcons on drives that didn't follow a forced turnover.

The Vikings' defense was so dominant on Sunday in Minnesota that the team's Week 2 opponent took notice in a big way. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur watched Minnesota's Week 1 matchup and quickly turned his attention to their Week 2 matchup in Wisconsin.

“Yeah, I did. I watched it,” LaFleur recently said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “That was an impressive performance by them to beat — I know what Atlanta’s all about and how good they are — and they handled them pretty good. We’re gonna have a really tough challenge coming in here.”

With the Chicago Bears reaching the postseason last year, the Vikings and Packers could be playing in a pivotal game on Sunday.
