The Minnesota Vikings looked to be in complete command of the Pittsburgh Steelers after a dominating first half. However, the Vikings saw their 29-0 lead begin to evaporate as the game went on, though they ultimately held on for 36-28 win. Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer had a blunt take on the near choke job against the Steelers.

As frustrating as it is for Mike Zimmer and the Vikings, at least the head coach can have some sort of sense of humor about it. Steelers fans certainly enjoyed the fact that their team wasn't getting blown out the whole time. Zimmer was brutally honest about his team's performance against the Steelers.

The Vikings team in the first half that put up 29 points and the most rushing yards by any team in one half this season, could theoretically beat anybody, as Zimmer said. On the other hand, the Vikings team that mustered just seven second-half points and allowed 28 of them to the Steelers, could also get beaten by any team.

Zimmer admitted that he was thinking “here we go again” during the Steelers game in the second half. And who could blame him? The Vikings have been as Jekyll-and-Hyde as any team in the NFL this season, as evidenced by this record that they're closing in on, which will make Minnesota fans lose their hair.

Zimmer knows if the 6-7 Vikings want to make the playoffs and have a chance if they even get there, they have to figure out how to close out games better. Perhaps this Thursday victory over the Steelers will wake them up.
