Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs is not expected to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Diggs suffered a rib injury during the Vikings loss against the New Orleans Saints. Diggs didn't practice all week and now will get an extra few weeks to make sure his ribs are fully healed when the Vikings play their next game against the Chicago Bears.

The Vikings activated Chad Beebe from the practice squad who has impressed coaches the last few months with his work on the scout team.

Diggs had said earlier this week that he was going to play on Sunday but only once has someone not practiced all week and played since Mike Zimmer took over as head coach.

With Diggs out, keep a close eye on how that affects Adam Thielen's production. The Lions should be able to give him more attention so it's probably going to take some of the other guys to step up and help Kirk Cousins and the offense move the ball up and down the field.

According to Schefter, the Vikings are expected to get running back Dalvin Cook back from a hamstring injury although he will be very on a very limited pitch count.

The Vikings had hoped to play Cook a few weeks ago before he tested it out in pregames and they decided to deactivate him. The hope is that he will get on the field, but there is a chance after testing his hamstring before the game he could be deactivated again.
