The Minnesota Vikings need offensive line help, and rumors are swirling that Trent Williams could be on the team by the end of Thursday night.

Paul Allen, the voice of the Vikings, said on his KFAN radio program, that he could see Minnesota swinging a trade for Williams that included a day three pick. He also added that he wouldn't be shocked if there was a lot of different action for the NFC North club during the first round, via Vikings Territory's Sean Borman.

Trading for Williams would make a lot of sense for Minnesota, who needs some major offensive line help. The two big hurdles the Vikings need to get over is cap space, and draft capital the Washington Redskins wants.

It's unclear how much the Redskins want to get Williams, but if a few teams are interested that could drive the price up. If all the Redskins are asking for is a late-round pick, it's something the Vikings are probably seriously considering.

The big issue the Vikings could face is with cap space. Williams has a cap hit of $14,5 million for the 2020 season. According to Spotrac.com the Vikes currently have a little over $12 million in cap space. With the teams needing to sign the rookies they are going to have to clear a big chunk of space to bring in Williams.

One option the team could look at is trying to trade away Anthony Harris, who the Vikings placed the franchise tag on. Trading Harris would also get some draft capital back that they lost getting Williams.
