So far, the Golden State Warriors have lost no less than four players in free agency. Juan Toscano-Anderson took his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers, Gary Payton II is now a member of the Portland Trail Blazers, while Otto Porter Jr. decided to sign with the Toronto Raptors. If you ask Draymond Green, however, it seems that the departure that has affected him the most is that of Nemanja Bjelica.

Green opened up about the Warriors' free-agent departures on a recent episode of his podcast and he admitted that Bjelica's departure “stung.” The 34-year-old veteran played just one year with the Warriors, but he clearly made quite an impact on Dray:

“I'm a little hurt by this one, I had an opportunity to create a really great relationship with Beli and one that, quite frankly, will last further than him or myself playing basketball,” he said on The Draymond Green Show (h/t Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports). “But for Beli, I think this was more of a family move than necessarily a business move. Beli has two young children and to be closer to his family.”

As Green explained, Bjelica decided to leave the NBA altogether to play in Turkey. After making his mark with the Warriors this past season, several teams likely had the 6-foot-10 big man on their radar. Nevertheless, Bjelica wanted to be closer to his kids.

“It sucks for us, it definitely sucks for us, because I thought his versatility and what he brought to the floor for us, another playmaker on the court and then obviously the way he stretches the floor, I thought that was really good for us,” Green continued. “And to lose him, I think that one stung a little bit. Nonetheless, extremely happy for him, he's back closer to his family, which I understand how important that is having a family of my own.”

Draymond Green is not the type to keep his emotions to himself, and it is clear in his statement here that he holds a lot of regret over Bjelica's Warriors exit.
