SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors are one game away from eliminating the Memphis Grizzlies to become the first team to advance to the conference finals in this year's playoffs. Lead assistant Mike Brown will be the coach leading the way again because Steve Kerr tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, and he did not make the trip to Memphis for Game 5.

Wednesday's game is very critical to the Warriors, but not for the reason many think. Coach Brown talked about that reason, and he said Draymond Green shares the same feeling about the game.

“Draymond, he's our emotional leader,” Brown told ClutchPoints. “He's one of our vocal leaders. … He said the same stuff to our guys about this game as he did in Game 2 and Game 3. So the importance of tomorrow is huge because it's a playoff game, and I truly feel all playoff games are must-win games.”

The Warriors are treating this game like a must-win, but it is literally a must-win for the Grizzlies. They are playing without their star player Ja Morant, and they will do everything they can to stop the Warriors from issuing the final blow to their season.

The Warriors have been in this position many times, and they understand what type of environment they'll be in. The importance of this game is the same as all games, but this one has more on the line. A win means advancing, it means resting, and it means you're one step closer to an NBA championship.

Brown is 12-0 when filling in for Kerr, and after Wednesday, he plans to be 13-0.
