The NBA offseason has been filled with stories of players giving back to their communities. Whether it's building a school like LeBron James, starting a scholarship program like Derrick Rose, or handing out backpacks like John Wall, a ton of players are giving back.
A backpack giveaway may seem small when compared to some of the other charitable efforts of the offseason, but every little bit counts. Hopefully, more players follow the lead of Wall and others by giving back whenever they can.
Wall spoke about what James is doing off the court. President Trump criticized James on Twitter, but it's safe to say that all of the NBA has James' back.
It's unfathomable that someone would criticize James right now after the charitable work he's doing in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. He's helping to spur an increase in charitable efforts from players across the NBA.
Wall is is just the latest example of an NBA star using his influence and platform to make the world a better place for those less fortunate. This backpack giveaway will go a long way towards helping some families prepare their children for their first day of school.
