Gilbert Arenas' 2009 gun incident was all but forgotten. That is, until former teammate Nick Young opened up about the event.

During an interview with celebrity Kevin Hart for his show “Cold as Balls All-Stars,” Nick Young admitted to instigating the event in the Verizon Center locker room.

When Hart asked Young about his start in the NBA and his relationship with Arenas, Young had some interesting comments.

“We like, like each other but don't like each other, like we go back and forth.

I did have his back. But I kinda started it though. I was cracking jokes…telling him he was soft.”

Young and Arenas were teammates on the Washington Wizards at the time of the incident. It began with a dispute during a card game involving Arenas, JaVale McGee and Javaris Crittenton. The disagreement led to trash talking, and eventually Crittenton made a threat towards Arenas involving guns.

Two days later, Arenas tried to hold Crittenton accountable for his threat. He brought four firearms into the locker room and told Crittenton to pick one to shoot him with. Crittenton instead pulled out a firearm of his own. No shots were fired but the locker room was cleared.

While Arenas later claimed the incident was meant to be sarcastic, both he and Crittenton were suspended by the league for their actions. They were also put on probation for weapons charges. Crittenton never returned to the NBA, while Arenas played in two more seasons. Both McGee and Young are still active today.

Crittenton is currently serving a 23-year sentence in prison. This is due to an unrelated case in which he was charged with voluntary manslaughter in Atlanta.
