The Washington Wizards have reportedly rejected all trade overtures by the Miami Heat for shooting guard Bradley Beal, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

The next sequential step would be for the Heat to re-engaged conversations if Beal rejects a three-year, $111 million contract extension, which he is eligible to receive starting July 26.

Beal, who will become a free agent in 2021, has remained committed in staying with the Wizards and potentially finishing his career with the team if fate allows it. Yet the organization has lacked a clear plan of attack, still without an official cog running the front office with Tommy Sheppard as the interim head.

Giving Sheppard the job would be another vote of confidence from Beal, who has been a strong proponent of him getting the green light for the job. He is a 16-year front office veteran who spent the majority of his time under former president Ernie Grunfeld and has now run the NBA Draft process, run the Summer League team, and taken care of multiple moves in free agency — trading Dwight Howard, re-signing Thomas Bryant, and adding Isaiah Thomas, among others.

Beal has been heavily coveted by the Heat, who are looking to put another star next to Jimmy Butler, preferably one that can aid him from the perimeter.

The 6-foot-5 marksman had the best season of his career, putting up 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, running the show for the Wizards in his seventh season with the team.

Despite prior scares, Beal has now played all 82 regular-season games for the Wizards in two consecutive seasons, emerging as an iron man of kinds after questions about his durability surfaced early in his career.
