Trea Turner put on his Superman cape on Sunday to power Team USA into the World Baseball Classic final. Naturally, the whole baseball world is in awe of the Philadelphia Phillies shortstop, who just keeps playing hero for the Americans.
A day after hitting a grand slam to save Team USA against Venezuela, Turner had another monstrous night to lead the squad to a dominant 14-2 win over Cuba at LoanDepot Park. The 29-year-old recorded two home runs and had four runs in total as the Americans refused to give their semifinal rivals any chance at all.
Turner displayed his power in the showdown, with his homer in the bottom of the second inning even going viral. The Phillies star hit the ball so hard that he had to retire one of his gloves after the hit.
Sure enough, Team USA fans couldn't help but heap praise on Turner for his heroics. He has absolutely become the most important player for the team, and so it's no surprise why every baseball fan is hyped about him.
“People like Team USA and Trea Turner more than they like the Phillies and, especially, Bryce Harper,” one commenter wrote.
Another one replied to a tweet introducing Mike Trout as baseball's best player, saying “Let me introduce you to Trea Turner.”

It remains to be seen which team between Japan and Mexico that Team USA will face in the World Baseball Classic final. But sure enough, all eyes will be on Trea Turner again when they take on the field. That's just how hot he has been.
