Chelsea is coming off a fantastic season where they secured a top-four finish and heroically lifted the Champions League trophy in Porto after taking down Premier League winners Manchester City. Now, Thomas Tuchel and the Blues will be looking to further build their squad and come back even stronger next term, and that all starts with the summer transfer window.

Chelsea's number one priority right now needs to be signing a proven striker who can score goals on a consistent basis. While they did enjoy success in 2020/21, Timo Werner didn't necessarily live up to expectations as the frontman they were hoping for. Following his big-money move from RB Leipzig where he was absolutely clinical, the German netted just 11 times across all competitions while tallying eight assists for the Blues. His involvement in the attack was impressive, but he lacked the end product on far too many occasions. With this in mind, it means that Chelsea must go out and bring in a player who can finish.

Here are 2 players the Blues should risk it all for.

2. Harry Kane, Tottenham

Is this a surprise? Manchester City is the clear frontrunners to lure Kane away from Spurs, but Chelsea certainly has the money to get a deal over the line. The Englishman voiced his desire to leave Tottenham in search of trophies and at Stamford Bridge, that would become a reality with him leading the line.

Kane is coming off a brilliant campaign for Tottenham, leading the top flight with 23 goals and 14 assists. He is the true definition of a modern striker who can do it all in the final third. His pace may not be a strong suit, but Kane's ability to pick out a pass and always be in dangerous positions to hammer home goals is uncanny.

With Chelsea, he would undoubtedly receive tremendous service from a world-class midfield consisting of Jorginho and N'golo Kante. Then depending on the formation, he would have England teammate Mason Mount and either Werner or Kai Havertz as his partners on the frontline. Kane can unlock a defense like nobody's business and has proven time and time again that he can bag goals at a ridiculously high rate.

The Blues have been linked with the England international, but it's mostly City who are chasing his signature. Whether Spurs chairman Daniel Levy makes him available remains to be seen, but if Kane is, Chelsea should be doing everything in their power to sign the 27-year-old. It would take them to new heights and give them the missing piece to the puzzle as they eye Premier League glory.

1. Erling Haaland, Dortmund

Who else would be at number one? Chelsea has been about the only club willing to pay over 100 million for Erling Haaland, who will see his transfer fee immensely drop next summer. The Dortmund phenom is arguably the most clinical youngster on the planet right now after breaking out as an absolute star a couple of years back with RB Salzburg before making the switch to Germany.

Last season, Haaland netted 41 goals in as many appearances for the Bundesliga giants. He's extremely dangerous anytime the ball is at his feet thanks to the wide array of skills he possesses. At 6 foot 4, Haaland is absolutely monstrous for a striker but his speed and agility are top-notch. He can leave defenders in the dust in a heartbeat and has a thundering left boot. Just like Kane, Haaland's eye for goal is unmatched. He's a terrific anticipator who can bag goals in every way imaginable in the final third.

So how would he fit at Chelsea? Well, Haaland could basically fit in any top club across Europe. But the Blues have to try and pounce now because next summer, there's going to be numerous heavyweights fighting for his signature. While Kane has a more decorated resume and track record, Haaland is a more realistic possibility for Chelsea. Dortmund is reluctant to sell their prized possession though, no matter what bid rolls in from the English giants.

Chelsea has even reportedly offered Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham as part of a package, but BVB hasn't budged. Nevertheless, Chelsea must keep trying to convince Haaland to take his talents to Stamford Bridge. He could very well be the answer to the side being in title contention for many years to come.
