Antonio Brown has found himself a free agent following the regular season kicking off on Thursday night. After a long, drama-filled offseason, Brown will be looking for a new team with all franchises kicking off their respective seasons under 24 hours away. The Oakland Raiders made the move to release Brown on Saturday.

Now, the door is open for any team to swoop in and make an offer to Brown. He will be able to sign with any team for any amount of money for the upcoming season. One team to keep a close eye on is the New England Patriots, who have a long history of picking up players that other teams view as character problems.

Bill Belichick and company are fresh off of another Super Bowl victory last season over the Los Angeles Rams. They are still viewed as a favorite to win this year as well. Adding Brown would certainly boost those chances.

Last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown ended up catching 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is still one of the elite playmakers in the game and one of the best wide receivers that the league has ever seen. New England has a ton of offensive talent, but they always want to give Tom Brady more options.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at three reasons why the Patriots are the perfect fit for Brown.

3. New England Doesn't Care About the Past

Brown is going to need to find a team that is only focused on the future, not the past. He has had a chaotic offseason and there are quite a few teams who aren't going to want to take a chance on him. New England will have no trouble taking a risk on him if they think he can help them win a championship.

Simply look at their current wide receiver depth chart for proof of that. Josh Gordon is still on the roster and is expected to be a huge part of their offense. Adding Brown to the mix would make their offense even more deadly and would help Brady make another run at adding another title to the Patriots' dynasty.

2. Bill Belichick's Offense Would Fit Him Perfectly

Next, the Patriots run an offense that would fit Brown perfectly. He has gone up against them many times in rivalry matchups while with the Pittsburgh Steelers. If a guy like Julian Edelman can put up big numbers in the Patriots' offense, opposing defenses would have nightmares thinking about the production Brown could put up.

Brady has not had a weapon like Brown since the Randy Moss days. Brown could provide another deep threat and one of the most athletic playmaking possession receivers in the history of the NFL.

1. The Patriots Can Offer Him A Chance Of Getting A Ring

The ultimate goal for every superstar in any sport is getting to the top of the game and winning a championship. Brown is the ultimate competitor on the field, even if he does have some bad characteristics away from it. New England is all about football, which would suit Brown well.

Playing alongside Brady would be a huge opportunity for him and winning a Super Bowl is a legitimate good possibility in New England. The Patriots are the best fit for the star wide receiver and there isn't any doubt about it.
