The Colorado Avalanche had to wait for more than 20 years to win the Stanley Cup again, but it took them less than one hour to dent it!

In a rather hilarious epic fail for the Avs, forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel tripped on the ice while carrying the Stanley Cup trophy on his way to the team photo. Unfortunately, with the Cup being too big, it took a hit and a damage that will be rather hard to fix.

As The Athletic noted, the Avalanche won the Cup at 10:49 ET and 56 minuets later, it was already dented.

Here's the video of the incident and a photo on how the trophy looked after the fall:

Well, Avalanche fans might be a little disappointed with that. But hey, it doesn't remove the fact that they are the champions, so that should ease the sting a bit.

Perhaps the Avs and the Colorado faithful can just laugh it off and maybe say it adds character to the trophy? It can also be a good topic of conversation for the team, with Aube-Kubel probably set to remember it for the rest of his life.

It was a historic run for the Avalanche and they are certainly not letting the mistake ruin the festivities for them.

Hopefully, though, they can fix it soon!
