A few weeks back, Axie Infinity released a Balancing Period Patch on Season 20. A lot of Axie cards were heavily nerfed and overly buffed during this patch. Axie now has released an official update 1.1.3.3 for the final balancing of the card set as of today. They adjusted a handful of unplayable cards as well as overly powered cards. This is the last balancing adjustment until the Season 21 buffer period. If there are unforeseen issues within the game or the meta, they will only conduct a hotfix followed after an announcement of a maintenance. Once season 20 starts, there will be no balancing changes left to do.

There are a handful of cards in Axie Infinity that were heavily nerfed due to the meta last season having 2 anemone aquas for the barricade and an all out dark swoop bird at the back. They hit both Anemone Cards (Aquaponics and Aqua Vitality) by lowering the damage done by the card. This makes anemone Axies have 2 of their cards deal low damage and would take a while to kill just one Axie. The probability of getting these cards are high since you have 2 copies each of 2 cards with low damage. They recently recovered the nerf and gave the anemone cards a boost in damage by 5. So the final stats of each anemone card is 75-30 along with the special effect of recovering 50 hp for each anemone body part.

The Axie Infinity patch also included an adjustment of damage for both Little Owl (Dark Swoop), and Oranda (Hero's Bane) cards for Bird and Aqua. The patch nerfed their damage, having Dark Swoop with 10 damage, only benefitting the backdoor mechanic. Oranda also had a heavy nerf on its damage having Star Shoal be a better option than it. They gave Oranda its damage back to 120 but decreased the shield generated from 30 to 20. Both cards are now playable and can both burst an Axie given a good combination done by the player.

Some cards on the other hand got a big buff due to their overall stats such as Caterpillar (Grub Surprise), Gila (Neuro Toxin) and Sponge (Shipwreck). All of them had their stats go up to 165+ which is almost unbeatable, even without their special effect. They nerfed all three cards with their shield generation as well as damage for Sponge. Now these cards only have a total of 160 overall added stats, which is fair since all three of these have their special effect that turns battles around.

Dawn Axies will also have a major adjustment due to not being included even in the talks for meta Axies. It's two Axie counterparts are Bird and Aqua types, which a lot of players have in their teams of Axies. Dawn Axies are slower than Aqua, Bird, Mech and Dusk. They have more morale stats than Aqua and Bird however small quantities of the stat Moral doesn't amount to much. 4 points of Moral adjusted to Speed stat instead, to match some of the other Axies. We can probably see more Dawn Axies in Axie Infinity with this stat change.

Patch 1.1.3.3 also has additional improvements namely visual effects, fixed bug displaying incorrect axie icon, and displays correct trigger text. They  also brought back Axie expressions! What are you waiting for? You should update the game now so you can firsthand experience all these changes.
