Former Chicago Bear Trace Armstrong has dispelled rumors around him about a possible management position with the Chicago Bears, a rumor that has arisen recently amid alleged ongoing talks between him and the team management.

Rumors have centered around Armstrong supposedly entering into an agreement with the Bears as a future football operations overseer, per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports:

“Armstrong, a former Bears player who is held in very high regard by the McCaskey family and longtime team president Ted Phillips, is very interested in the potential of helping steward his former franchise into better days, and ownership is at least willing to consider the notion of restructuring the hierarchy of the franchise, sources said, as it embarks on getting a new stadium constructed in Arlington. Sources said in this scenario, if the sides agreed to it, Armstrong would oversee football operations with the coach and GM reporting to him”

However, Armstrong recently tweeted out a message saying that there is no truth to any of the claims being reported concerning him and any future role with the Bears.

In the tweet, Armstrong said that “any assertion that I have engaged in conversations with them [Bears] about joining the club in any capacity is simply not true.”

Apparently, Bears fans are not going to have Trace Armstrong on rejoin their team any time soon. Despite this, one positive thing that can be pulled out from it is the fact that Armstrong still feels the need to say that he has the utmost respect for the organization, an indicator of friendly and warm ties between the two parties.
