Even after Justin Fields helped lead the Chicago Bears to a 24-14 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 4, head coach Matt Nagy is sticking by the side of Andy Dalton once he returns from injury.

Nagy put an end to any quarterback controversy that may arise for the Bears by clarifying on Monday that Dalton is the starting quarterback for Chicago once he's healthy. It's a move that won't sit well with fans.

While Fields wasn't lights out great against the Lions, he did make some really nice throws despite going just 11/17 for 209 yards and one interception.

The box score for Fields doesn't tell the entire tale of the tape as Chicago had a lot of success running the ball against the Lions and largely stuck to that method in getting the win.

The victory moved the Bears to 2-2 on the season and Chicago fans have been clamoring for Fields to be the starter and remain the starter. Nagy will be taking a different route.

Dalton missed the game due to a knee injury and his status for Week 5 is still unknown. Even with the Bears winning, there seems to be some dysfunction as it pertains to the quarterback position. To help shut that down, Nagy has come out and named Dalton his QB1 on Monday for whenever he is healthy enough to return to the lineup.
