After an abysmal performance in Week 3, the Chicago Bears bounced back and earned a win over the Detroit Lions. It was a big moment for Chicago, as they defeated a division rival. There's still hope for this franchise to find success this year. It's time to continue our NFL takeaways series with a Bears Week 4 takeaway.

This was a solid outing for the Bears. They looked much better against the Lions on Sunday which bodes well for their future success. It wasn't perfect by any means and there are some things the team must work on, but the franchise should be able to build on this for their next game.

Darnell Mooney looked phenomenal throughout this matchup. He served as the favorite target and proved his reliability in the passing game. David Montgomery balled out and hopefully he's healthy. Lastly, Justin Fields flashed potential throughout this contest. With that said, here are three Bears Week 3 takeaways in their game against the Lions.

Bears Week 3 Takeaways

3. Darnell Mooney has a bright future in Chicago

Allen Robinson is technically the top wide receiver on the Bears offense but Darnell Mooney played as Justin Fields' favorite target. He finished the day with five receptions and 125 yards, leading the entire team in both categories.

Not only did he stack the stat sheet, but Mooney made phenomenal plays throughout the game. He reeled in tough catches in coverage and made acrobatic receptions as well. Darnell Mooney was the best receiver on the field and he has a ton of room to grow still. Look for Mooney to keep this up in Week 5 and beyond.

2. David Montgomery is the real deal

Another player on the offense that looked great was David Montgomery. The Bears made sure to run the ball and it worked in their favor. Montgomery ended the day with 106 yards and two touchdowns, providing consistency for Chicago on the ground.

Unfortunately, Montgomery fell to injury in the fourth quarter against the Lions. Hopefully, it's not a serious issue and he bounces back sooner, rather than later. It's a situation to monitor leading up to their next game.

Even so, running the ball is something the Bears must do to win more football games. Not only does it bring balance to the offense, but it removes pressure off of their rookie quarterback. Keep an eye on David Montgomery's health status, as he is a major contributor to this franchise.

1. Justin Fields is here to stay

His first NFL start was one to forget but he looked much better in his second game. It wasn't perfect by any means, but he flashed his potential throughout. Fields ended up with 209 receiving yards and one interception. It would have been nice to see him record a touchdown, but the future is bright for Justin Fields.

The Bears rookie quarterback showed enough improvement for the coaching staff to consider keeping in the lineup. Fields brings a different element to the game Andy Dalton and Nick Foles can't replicate. His rookie campaign is likely to be a bumpy road, but the more he plays the better. We'll see how Justin Fields handles a tough Las Vegas Raiders team in Week 5.
