Former Boston Celtics standout Paul Pierce received a great deal of hate from a lot of NBA fans following his recent comments about Dwyane Wade. The one-time NBA champion said that if he had the chance to play with some of Wade's teammates, particularly LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Shaquille O'Neal, he would have won at least five or six championships.

A lot of people didn't like Pierce's comments, as they thought he's implying that he's better than Wade. But he has a few allies, and one of them is Portland Trail Blazers guard Evan Turner, who defended the 17-year veteran on Twitter.

For the record, Pierce never actually said that he is a better player than Wade. He was basically saying that he might have won more titles if he was given the opportunity to play with such generational talents. Pierce played with three future Hall of Famers in Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo, and they won a title together, but none of those guys were as great as LeBron or as dominant as Shaq.

No matter what people say, Pierce definitely had a great career in the NBA. It may not be as great as D-Wade's, but nothing can be taken away from him. There's no way to know if he would have played better along Wade's former All-Star teammates. But for Pierce, he knew he could've, and probably would've won more if he was in the same situation as the three-time champion.
