Before the Boston Celtics and the Portland Trail Blazers faced each other Sunday night, Evan Turner talked to the media before the game.

Turner joked that head coach Brad Stevens would get his first title when he re-joins the team.

Turner signed a free agent deal with the Celtics back in 2014. He spent two seasons with the team. He was a decent role player for the team.

Turner then signed with the Trail Blazers back in the summer of 2016. He signed a four-year, $70 million deal.

The earliest he could re-join the Celtics is during the summer of 2020, if he actually would think about returning to the team, and if the team would be interested in him.

Since joining the Blazers, he has been a very key role player. So far this season, he is averaging 10.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

It would be an interesting scenario if this ever happened for the Celtics. Obviously, the cap space situation is still very fluid and that is two years down the road. Plus, who knows what the Celtics would look like in a couple of years and what Turner will command then.

There are so many scenarios you have to think about before even thinking about this as being a plausible thing that could happen.

However, with the way the team is built now and if they continue to build in a similar way they are in two years, Turner would be an excellent fit.

Obviously, Turner was just joking. However, he may be interested in coming back to the team at some point during his career before he retires.
