The St. Louis Blues trail the Colorado Avalanche in their second-round series of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They've spent the majority of the postseason tournament without Torey Krug. The star defenseman has missed eight games so far because of a lower-body injury.

According to Craig Berube, Krug won't be recording any ice time anytime soon. He said that there is “no chance” that the Blues defenseman suits up for the remainder of the second round. NHL.com reporter Lou Korac tweeted the news Thursday afternoon.

Krug suffered the injury in the third game of the Blues' first-round matchup against the Minnesota Wild. He's believed to be dealing with a left knee issue, according to Korac. Fortunately, it sounds like the defenseman's recovery is headed in the right direction. He attended the Blues' morning skate on Monday ahead of Game 4.

Krug would be a huge help for the Blues at this point in the series. Down 3-2, St. Louis is struggling to keep the puck out of their own net. Colorado has scored 19 goals in six games, while the Blues have 16.

For now, St. Louis will have to work with the guys they have available. And, if things go to plan, they'll likely be reunited with Krug for the third round of the playoffs. If the Blues come back from their originally 3-1 deficit, they'll take on the winner of the Edmonton Oilers vs Calgary Flames series.
