Denzel is not the most common of names. However, with Denzel Washington being one of the most popular actors in the world, it has become a household name as well. Meanwhile, his namesake in the Chicago Bulls' Denzel Valentine is striving to carve his own niche to make all other ‘Denzels' in the world even more proud to hold their name.
In what turned out to be a hilarious moment, the PA announcer of the Memphis Grizzlies accidentally announced the 6-foot-6 swingman using the Hollywood actor’s name instead. It has brought some laughter to the crowd inside FedEx Forum and also drew some hilarious tweets from members of the media, including Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com, Evan Barnes of The Commercial Appeal, and Twitter user Gustavo Vega.
PA announcer just announced Denzel Washington was entering the game. Then caught himself midstream to say Valentine. Gotta laugh to keep from crying at this Grizz-Bulls game. https://t.co/QkURKh4g4C

Yes folks. Denzel Washington was announced during the game instead of Denzel Valentine. Chicago Bulls finally have their biggest star since Derrick Rose won MVP. https://t.co/5p1xSTYwYC

Valentine and the Bulls did have the last laugh on the night, though, as they escaped with a squeaker, 111-110. The 24-year-old Michigan State product had a solid outing, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists, alongside Zach LaVine, who had 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists of his own. The win was their third in the last five games and it improved their record to 24-44 for the season.
The Grizzlies, on the other hand, saw their losing streak extended to 19 games now, and they continue to own the worst record in the league this season. It's good to know that they still find ways to give their fans reason to laugh and smile these days, although in an unintentional manner.
