The Chicago Bulls will open their 2018-19 season on Oct. 18 by facing one of the frontrunners for the Eastern Conference crown in the Philadelphia 76ers on TNT, according to K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune. Sixers vs. Bulls, let's go!

While the young Bulls won't appear in the Christmas Day slate of games, they will however face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Martin Luther King Day.

The Windy City is seeing some slow-and-steady progress after committing to a rebuild by trading away Jimmy Butler, as Lauri Markkanen showed some promise as a rookie, and the organization has now committed to Zach Lavine long-term, making him a likely staple of this equation moving forward.

The Bulls also selected a gem in Wendell Carter Jr. — a versatile frontcourt player that can mix-and-match alongside Markkanen or provide different looks coming off the bench.

A strong finisher around the basket and an improving jump-shooter, Carter has all the promise to mold into the modern NBA big, able to attack from all areas on the floor.

Chicago's first test against Philadelphia could prove a great starting block for their season and a genuine first evaluation of how this team will need to perform on a nightly basis as coach Fred Hoiberg adjusts his rotations.
