Chicago Bulls rookie point guard Coby White says the team is “looking to make a playoff run” next season.

The Bulls haven't made the playoffs since 2017, but could sneak into the eighth seed in 2019-20 if everything goes right for them:

“[This season] is a huge excitement for us,” White told Joshua M. Hicks of WARR Media. “We added some new pieces this year with me, Daniel [Gafford], Thad [Young], Tomas [Satoransky] and Luke [Kornet]. This season should be exciting and we’re looking to make a playoff run.”

The Bulls will go as far as shooting guard Zach LaVine and power forward Lauri Markkanen can take them next season. Chicago is hoping Coby White can push Kris Dunn and Tomas Satoransky in training camp and practices to elevate his game. Dunn was considered the weak point in the Bulls' starting lineup by the end of last season, which is why the team went out and got White and Satoransky this summer.

The Bulls drafted White with the seventh overall pick in this year's draft. He averaged 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season at North Carolina while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.

White struggled shooting the ball in Summer League out in Las Vegas, but showed off his speed in transition. The youngster put up 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 33.7 percent from the floor in Las Vegas.
