Chicago Bulls rookie Coby White has signed a multi-year shoe deal with Adidas, according to a report that was issued by ESPN's Nick DePaula on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulls selected White with the No. 7 overall pick in this year's draft. By most accounts, he is going to be a fine addition to the team's roster, as he is a gifted ball handler with a knack for scoring the rock.

White played one season of collegiate hoops at the University of North Carolina, where he earned Second-Team All-ACC honors. In 35 appearances with the Tar Heels (all starts), the 19-year-old racked up averages of 16.1 points on 42.3 percent shooting from the field (35.3 percent from beyond the arc), 4.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 28.5 minutes per outing.

“Coby can run. He can shoot,” Bulls executive vice president John Paxson told the Chicago Tribune after White joined the team. “At North Carolina as a freshman, he took a leadership role with a lot of older guys. I said this when the season ended and you start digging into the draft, you start looking at the individual and what he can do for your organization. We feel he’s just a really good fit for us. He’s got a world of talent. He can score, and you have to score in this day and age.”

The Bulls finished the 2018-19 regular season campaign with a disappointing 22-60 overall record, which left the team well out of the playoff hunt. Hopefully, White can lead the team back into contention in the coming season.
