Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine is making a push for the All-Star Game in Chicago. The Bulls are struggling again this season, but LaVine has been trying to put the team on his back with his big scoring performances.

While the Bulls star is confident he deserves a spot in the All-Star Game due to his individual performance, he cares more about changing the franchise's fortunes when it comes to winning:

“If we're in the right position and I'm doing everything possible, I'm just trying to help this team win games,” the Bulls guard said. If I get into it, that's great. My confidence doesn't lack by … if you're solidified as an All-Star. I feel like I'm an All-Star. Whenever I step on the court, I feel like I'm the best player. I'm a very confident person, but if you don't have that type of mentality you've already lost. I'm not really focused on that as a big goal of mine. I think it'll happen, but I'm just focused on winning games and trying to get us better and get us to the playoffs.”

These are big declarations from LaVine. However, it seems like his coach also agrees. Bulls head coach Jim Boylen sincerely believes his star guard should get invited to the All-Star Game due to his performance.

The numbers back him up in that regard. LaVine is averaging 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 steals on the season. He has basically won several games all by himself for the Bulls, and their offense would be truly hopeless without him.

While it's still very unlikely that the 15-27 Bulls will make the playoffs, LaVine has done more than enough to convince people to campaign for his inclusion in the All-Star Game. Bulls fans are hoping he gets the honor so he can play in front of his home fans in the star-studded exhibition affair.
