The Los Angeles Lakers, one of the all-time best NBA franchises, have had a few miserable years. In the last two seasons the team has only won 38 games – while losing a whopping 126 times.

And in the center of it all has been head coach Bryon Scott. He's faced more criticism than perhaps any coach in Lakers history due to the underachieving squad, but as he told LA Daily News' Mark Medina, he hasn't been phased by unhappy fans:

With Kobe Bryant now retired from basketball, Scott has his first real chance to develop the young Lakers core of D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Jordan Clarkson unhindered by the circus of Kobe's Farewell Tour.

If Scott can't manage to make that work, he will likely be booted from Los Angeles. In the meantime, let's see what he can do with the youngsters for a full season without distractions.
