Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has long been considered one of the top defensive backs in the league, and he has the Pro Bowl appearances to prove it.

After being voted to Honolulu yet again this season, Peterson has now tied former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders as the youngest player to reach eight Pro Bowls, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

Through 14 games this season, Peterson has registered 50 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and five passes defended. If you are wondering why his numbers seem so modest, it's because nobody even throws his way.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Cardinals with the fifth overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.

He immediately started for Arizona during his rookie campaign, finishing with 64 tackles, a sack, two picks, a couple of fumble recoveries, and 13 passes defended en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Peterson has made the Pro Bowl in every single year of his eight-year NFL career, also earning First-Team All-Pro honors three times.

While the Fort Lauderdale, Fl. native became frustrated earlier in the year and considered seeking a trade from the Cardinals, he has since said he is okay with being a part of the franchise's rebuilding effort.

Arizona currently owns a record of just 3-11 and will miss the playoffs for the third straight season after making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game during the 2015-16 campaign.
