Carmelo Anthony is coming off quite a frustrating season with the New York Knicks having missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.

However, that didn't dissuade the 10-time All-Star from putting in a thorough workout on his 33rd birthday on Monday.

It was nothing short of a disappointing season both on and off the court, that also saw his personal life take a tumble with his marital trouble. This may be a separate issue entirely, but it doesn't help Anthony given the struggles he has had on the court in recent months.

Team president Phil Jackson has repeatedly stated publicly that the star forward would be best served to play elsewhere despite having two years left on his five-year, $124 million deal. He is clearly not on the Knicks' long-term plans with them no longer having the strong belief that he can lead the franchise to success.

Although Anthony experienced a drop in his production, he still remains as one of the elite players in the league averaging 22.4 points with 5.9 rebounds per game. He is one of five players in NBA history who has averaged at least 20.0 points and played at least 40 games in each of his first 13 seasons in the league.

Anthony may be entering the backend of his career, but he still has plenty to offer on the court that will make his fate this offseason quite intriguing to say the least.
