As the entertainment and professional sports businesses come closer each year, the WWE and the NBA have not been immune to that. Many NBA players have been featured in WWE shows. It has not always gone too well, as evidenced by a somewhat infamous cameo of Lonzo and LaMelo Ball.

Still, many other appearances were great. Shaquille O'Neal even wrestled a couple of times in the past, and it was proof that some NBA players could have a future in the NBA. One roster that has some potential in that regard is the Boston Celtics. They have quite a few odd characters to choose from. While nobody is as perfect for a WWE role as former Celtics icon Paul “The Truth” Pierce, there's still some potential on the roster. To narrow down that choice, here are two Celtics players who would make great WWE Superstars.

Celtics WWE Talent

Enes Kanter

Now known as Enes Kanter Freedom, the Turkish Celtics player has tons of potential in the WWE in the future. First things first, it is important to mention that he has a past with the WWE. He briefly held the 24/7 WWE Championship in 2020, and even suggested that he will sign for WWE when his NBA career is over, as reported by Bleacher Report. This is a great match for a few reasons.

Kanter is firstly a very imposing figure. He stands at six-foot-ten and weighs in at about 250 pounds. With his general personality, he can definitely be seen like a face, a friendly giant who could be paired up in a tag team with an underdog of some sort. He is not as athletic as other NBA players, but the Celtics center still is an athletic person by WWE standards. Obviously, his style of wrestling would not be centered around that, but it still deserves a mention.

The biggest reason why Kanter and the WWE go together is his personality. He has never shied down from speaking about things publicly. Of course, the Celtics veteran mostly uses that for messages he cares a lot about, but it is not limited in any way. Kanter uses his voice to ridicule and even troll on and off the court and can be a generally entertaining person. These are all potential goldmines for a future WWE career, especially when paired up with his background.

Kanter was born in Switzerland, but he is originally Turkish. Due to this European heritage he has, the WWE writers could have a field day writing various storylines for a character of Enes Kanter's ilk. Many in WWE history made their whole career out of their international niche, so the Celtics player has his path already ahead of himself. Due to his feelings on Turkey right now, it is not known whether he would be fully comfortable using it in his professional wrestling career. However, his verbal commitment to the WWE after his NBA career could be enough to see the first NBA to WWE transition in the history of both organizations.

Jaylen Brown

This spot was really up to three players. Although ultimately it was Brown, both Marcus Smart and Robert Williams could have been here easily. Timelord, as Williams is known, combines great athleticism with an even better, or more entertaining, personality. He is quite a figure and WWE writers could have an absolute field day with his niche of being generally late to things. The Celtics guard, on the other hand, could have been here as he is a gritty, undersized player that would play a great heel underdog in the WWE.

Still, Jaylen Brown was selected due to two things that can be relevant in professional wrestling. Firstly, Brown got hit the other day and lost his tooth, but he took it like an absolute champ. Obviously, the WWE and generally professional wrestling is entertainment. The moves are rehearsed and they are done with the intention of entertaining the viewers, not for inflicting harm on the other wrestlers. However, with a sport like that, small injuries can happen and the way the Celtics forward took it, he could carry on with the performance even though minor issues.

Secondly, he is quite athletic. With a wide array of moves one WWE Superstar needs, wrestlers who are not a part of a physical niche, such as the Big Show or Kane, need to be fairly athletic. Brown can use his athleticism to create a high-flying image around himself, to be in perfect cohesion with his Celtics teammate mentioned above.

Regardless of who was chosen of the four mentioned, the Celtics have a ton of WWE potential talents on their roster. They would all be very entertaining in the professional wrestling field. Clearly, Enes Kanter is interested so if he can get one of his teammates to involve themselves, that would be very fun to watch.
