Boston Celtics general manager and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was successful in beating the Utah Jazz in the Gordon Hayward free agency sweepstakes this summer. His son, however, wasn't as lucky in his own venture in the state, as Tanner Ainge has decided to forfeit his primary election campaign for a congressional seat in Utah.

Tanner was sport enough to accept defeat, though, as he even offered a congratulatory remark for Provo, Utah mayor John Curtis, who eventually won the seat.

It could be recalled that Tanner previously ditched aiding his dad's pursuit of Hayward back in free agency when he tried to scare the forward away from Boston by letting Hayward know of a bill that asks for increased tax from millionaires in Massachusetts.

For those keeping count, Danny leads Tanner in wins this summer, 1-0, but the Celtics boss trails his other son who posterized him on their driveway.
