The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks are slated to face off in a pivotal Game 4 NBA Playoff matchup on Monday. Trailing two-games-to-one, the Celtics are in need of a victory to avoid falling into nearly insurmountable deficit against the defending champions. Their quest to do so was dealt a brutal blow after the latest injury update on Celtics center Robert Williams, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Per Charania, Williams will miss Game 4 of the NBA Playoff matchup with the Bucks due to left knee soreness. Williams left Game 3 with what appeared to be a face injury, though he apparently also sustained a knee injury during the contest.

It's not the first time that Williams has popped up on the injury report, as the talented big man had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in the same knee earlier in the year, putting his status for the opening NBA Playoff matchup with the Brooklyn Nets in jeopardy.

It's certainly concerning that Williams is experiencing soreness in that same knee. The 24-year-old appeared in 61 games for the Celtics, averaging 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

His presence will especially be missed on the defensive end, with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo likely angling to attack the paint even more in his absence.
